and non-continuity editing
Continuity editing – continuity editing is a type of editing that is used to help the story flow in a chronological way that is easy for the viewer to understand. Example of this is a match cut is an example of continuity editing, this is when a director cuts from one scene so a completely different scene. Another example of continuity editing is eyeline match this is when it allows you as the viewer to see what the character(s) in the scene are seeing then in the next shot you’ll see exactly what the character sees the same way that the character see it.
Non-continuity editing – non-continuity editing is when shots do not particularly match up to disrupt the impression of time and space an example would be a montage
