podcast production resources

 microphones: 

when my podcast is in production i will be using the rode NTA1 this is is a large diaphragm condenser microphone this is better than using a condenser microphone as a condenser microphone is used for louder sounds such as drums or loud vocals on the podcast a condenser microphone as it is better for recording higher frequency audio such as talking or singing. while recording we use a cradle mount this is to stop any unwanted vibrations that could mess up the quality of the audio while recording this is the same reason why we don't use a hand held microphone as it could ruin the quality of the audio recording. we need a clear audio recording as if the audio is messed up it can sometimes be impossible or very hard to improve of fix the audio while editing.  

sound card: 

the microphones get plugged into the audio interface or the stage box, this is too make sure we receive a good quality audio. these are good to use as it improves the sound capabilities of the computer and it expands the inputs and outputs you have available to you. when using a audio interface you should make sure to set the gain to the right sitting if the gain is too low the audio will be too quiet and it may not be able to be heard and the volume may not be able to be increased while editing. however if the gain is too high this could cause natural distortion with the audio that can not be fixed in editing. 

logic pro x: 

logic pro is a digital audio workstation that allows us to record and edit audio. it is better than the free versions of DAW's as logic allows you to add sounds and affects that logic already includes it is also very easy to use. it is better to use a DAW like logic than using something like zoom or skype which many podcasters over lockdown did this is because zoom and skype run of internet and if your internets connection is bad it can ruin the quality of you audio.  

other: 

some things that we would also be using while making the podcast are headphones we use headphones while recording and editing audio to block out audio and to hear the audio more clearly. one other thing we have to do is think about the intro and outro and ad some sound effects or music throughout the podcast. when adding music or sound effects to the podcast it has to be royalty free to avoid it being copyrighted.
